Do sunscreen creams cause cancer? Sunscreen is one of the most recommended health products in the world. It is also one of the most debated. Some people say it protects you from cancer. Others say the chemicals inside sunscreen enter your bloodstream and may create long-term health risks. So what is actually true? In this video, we put sunscreen on trial. Not to tell you whether you should use it or avoid it, but to understand how science studies cancer risk in the first place. We look at the FDA-related studies that found sunscreen ingredients in the bloodstream, why “detected” does not automatically mean “dangerous,” why dose matters, and why proving something causes cancer is much harder than a scary headline makes it sound. We also look at the other suspect in the room: the sun. Ultraviolet radiation has been studied for decades, and the evidence connecting UV exposure to skin damage and skin cancer is currently much stronger than the evidence linking normal sunscreen use to cancer in humans.
