The Beautiful Three-Wattled Bellbird Courtship Song and Display

Three-wattled bellbird (Procnias tricarunculatus) from the cloud forest of Costa Rica. ••• PLEASE SUBSCRIBE (WITH THE NOTIFICATION 🔔) TO SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL ••• The male bellbird perches on high branches and opens his mouth a full 180° to make his distinctive call "bonk". Its name comes from the three black worm-like wattles of skin that hang from the sides and top of the bill. These wattles can be as long as 10cm (juveniles have shorter ones). The wattles remain flaccid even when extended. The male shakes the wattles, as a courtship display while making his very loud calls (some of the loudest in the world of birds). ☕ Enjoying the videos I upload?
