Neville Brothers - Uptown (Live)

After their indy label release "Neville-ization: in 1984, the Neville Brothers sought out a deal with a major label for their next release. Their ""UPTOWN" LP was released by EMI-America in 1987 to mixed reviews. The album was a conscious attempt at commercial success and radio play. The only complaints I ever heard about the album was its overly-slick production values. I never heard any complaints about the songs themselves and - frankly - I've always preferred hearing those songs in a live setting, where they are lacking the guest performers and studio slickness. This "release" gives fans a chance to hear the "Uptown" LP (minus two songs) as it would have sounded on stage. The tracks are taken from a variety of dates and venues so the sound quality won't be consistent, but hopefully it will still be an enjoyable listening experience!
