The *NEW* LifeProof NUUD for iPhone 7 Plus: Thinner, Grippier, with a Fully Transparent Back!

LifeProof fans have been waiting eagerly for the new NUUD for iPhone 7 Plus, and the new version has some significant improvements over last year’s model. First of all, it is slimmer, with a more streamlined design. Secondly, it now has soft, rubbery sides that give the case a pleasant degree of grip. Finally, LifeProof has redesigned the back to remove the opaque back panels found on the iPhone 6s Plus version, so the back is transparent from top to bottom. To me, it feels much nicer in the hand than the previous version of the NUUD and has a much improved appearance. Pros: Submersible to 2 meters for up to one hour. Drop rated to 2 meters. Touch your phone’s actual screen—no screen protector to contend with. Very good audio quality for a waterproof case—probably better than last year’s NUUD, but not quite as good as this year’s FRE for iPhone 7 Plus in my opinion. Touch ID works perfectly with the protective home button membrane. Nice grippy sides feel good in the hand. Easy to install and remove—new plastic removal key included in the LifeProof packaging is a nice touch. New mute switch arrangement works well and is easy to use. Cons: Volume and power buttons are rather stiff and hard to press. No optional plastic screen protector is included in the packaging to help protect against scratch hazards. The iPhone 6s Plus version of the NUUD came with a plastic screen protector, but they no longer include this rather useful item.
