Great Red Book 5.8 (Pitch 1) - Climbing Red Rock Canyon, NV
POV climbing the first pitch of the classic trad route, Great Red Book in Red Rocks! 0:00 Highlight and start of climb 1:42 Short offwidth / layback section 4:08 Lovely hand crack (wish it was longer!) 5:26 Fingers layback across a slab 7:41 Runout face climbing to the finish! Fun climbing on the reddest of sandstone in Red Rocks! This climb has everything, lots of laybacking through all sizes of cracks, some sweet jamming, and great face climbing. It takes decent gear for most the first pitch, with some runouts over easier terrain. Since I don't do a lot of laybacking, committing to it was exciting, but then it turned out that it wasn't that difficult.
