Approximately 11 million women raise their children alone in Brazil. The law stipulates that the parents of these children and adolescents have emotional and financial responsibilities, but this is not the reality in many cases: 1.7 million children don't even have their father's name on their birth certificates, and there are more than 600,000 child support cases pending in the country. This week, the National Congress approved a bill that could reduce non-payment through an automatic collection mechanism: Pix Pensão Alimentícia (Pix Child Support), which now awaits President Lula's signature. In this episode, Natuza Nery interviews two women who study this topic.
