Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne (before renovation 2025)

The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne is very special to our family and this video gives a glimpse of the hotel prior to the upcoming reveal of the 2025 renovations and its beautiful location on a 7 mile stretch of land most people don't know even exists. The key gets gorgeous sunrises and sunsets and all the spectacular light and water colors in between. Since it is Florida and a patch of land in between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, the weather can also be a force. The Ritz Carlton has been a place of celebration of birthdays, holidays, tennis lessons at the amazing tennis garden for the kids, trying to sneak a peak at Roger Federer when the island hosted the Lipton/Sony tennis tournament, cheeseburgers at Dune, margaritas with Geno (who we followed from the Sonesta and had cell phone cameras been a thing then, there would be a video of that, too). The Ritz always means family time from when my children and the hotel were young and now the grandchildren get to literally follow in their parents' sandy footsteps. Not totally surprisingly, this also was the place of evacuation for my youngest daughter and me in the company of 2 of our cats when Hurricane Ian was forecast to hit us directly on the gulf coast. We've also seen some unexpected December storms and while it was not the vacation planned, it was remarkable to watch safely tucked inside and I've included these shifts in the usual calm. And not for nothing, the cats hunkered down in their safe spots is nothing short of adorable and we are sure they tell the other cats about their stay at The Ritz. With each occasion, we could not have been welcomed more warmly or felt more comfortable.
