Présidentielle 2027 : Qui peut battre le RN ?
According to an Elabe poll for BFMTV and La Tribune Dimanche, the National Rally (RN) could emerge victorious in the presidential election. Only certain candidates appear capable of defeating Jordan Bardella or Marine Le Pen in the second round. Based on hypothetical scenarios involving the two far-right candidates facing Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Raphaël Glucksmann, Bruno Retailleau, Édouard Philippe, and Gabriel Attal, the only candidate who would prevail over the RN is Édouard Philippe, the mayor of Le Havre. Yves Thréard, deputy editor of Le Figaro, and political journalist Rachel Garrat-Valcarcel were guests on the morning show Bonjour Chez Vous to offer their post-municipal election analysis. According to Rachel Garrat-Valcarcel, these municipal elections have demonstrated that a RN victory is not yet guaranteed for the presidential election. She explains: "What worked well was the alliance between the right and the center. The electorates coalesced very effectively." And in cities where the National Rally (RN) had no chance, RN voters largely voted strategically for right-wing or centrist candidates to block the left, or to try to flip cities. The city of Nantes is a very telling case, and let's not even mention Brest and Clermont-Ferrand, where the RN's score between the first and second rounds is sometimes divided by three. According to the deputy editor of Le Figaro, the municipal elections are already giving us a glimpse of the presidential election, and nothing is yet decided for the RN. He illustrates: "The center and the right have held onto their cities, and even won some. Certainly, the RN is doing better than usual in small and medium-sized cities, but it failed in the larger ones. And the Socialist Party (PS) is also holding its own, in a way. (...) Regarding the Bardella-Philippe poll, I'm very surprised because it's been six years since he left the government, and he hasn't lost much ground since then." As for what happens next, we'll see, there's still a long way to go and not everyone is at the starting line yet. » 🔴 To stay up-to-date on all political and parliamentary news, subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/publicse... 👉 Our website: http://www.publicsenat.fr ▶️ Watch all our replays: https://www.publicsenat.fr/replay 📬 Subscribe to our newsletter: https://bit.ly/NewslettersPublicSenat 🚀 Follow us on social media: Facebook: / publicsenat X: / publicsenat Instagram: / publicsenat LinkedIn: / 2996809 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/publicsenat.fr Threads: https://www.threads.net/@publicsenat TikTok: / publicsenat
