SEM Episode 2: Path Analysis
Patrick continues his exploration of the structural equation model with a discussion of path analysis. ... He begins this episode of Office Hours by describing how to construct a path diagram. He then builds a path analysis model to test hypothesized mediators involved in the relation between parental alcoholism and adolescent substance use. He then describes how to specify the model, how to use likelihood ratio tests or modification indices to potentially respecificy the model. Finally, he concludes by describing the assumption of perfect reliability in path analysis and how inclusion of latent variables can address this limitation. Loehlin, J. C., & Beaujean, A. A. (2016).
