World Record Model! Giant RC Curtiss JN 4 Jenny – Huge But Ultralight Flying At Flight Show

The RC Curtiss JN 4 Jenny in 1:1.8 scale is simply amazing. Big, but super-light. The model builder set himself the challenge of getting the aircraft to weigh under 25 kg despite its enormous size. With a wingspan of more than 7 m, this was a more than ambitious task. The model builder used only super-light balsa wood, plywood, aluminum, carbon fiber tubing, and brass. After a year of construction, the model was finished and—after many optimizations—actually weighs 24.925 kg. This makes the RC Curtiss JN 4 Jenny shown here a world record model in its class: the largest biplane of conventional wooden construction under 25 kg, entered in the Guinness Book of Records.
