Born in 1953 in Downey California, Phil Alvin was raised around music at a young age. As a kid he was mentored by legends like Sonny Terry, Big Joe Turner and T-Bone Walker. In 1979 Phil his brother Dave and neighborhood friend Johnny Bazz created the seminal americana band The Blasters. Phil sat down with Ian Harrower and talked about his amazing life in music.
