Entendendo Back-End para Iniciantes em Programação (Parte 1) | Série "Começando aos 40"
This is the 5th episode of the "Starting at 40" series. You should watch the previous episodes to understand where we are, and I recommend watching the two videos in the "Your Language Isn't Special" series. In today's episode, I'll begin introducing the basic concepts of what we call "back-end," which in practice is the introduction to programming itself. The intention of this video is not to be a lecture or tutorial, but to connect the dots of various topics that you might find disconnected if you search on Google. If you've been to college, you should already know everything I'm going to say here, so see what you missed in your studies and catch up! In short, I'll briefly talk about the simplest concepts: Assembly language, compilers, interpreters, virtual machines, bytecode, processes, forks, threads—everything any programmer is obligated to know by heart—and in parallel, I'll briefly go over the 90s again. Since the episode is long, I've divided it into two parts. In today's part, I'll only go up to the dot-com crash in 2001, and we'll continue from there in Part 2 next week.
