In her autobiographical account, 'How to Say Goodbye to a Mother' (Ed. Pepitas), journalist and writer Uxue Razquin narrates the process of her mother's illness and the subsequent void left by her death without romanticizing the suffering or sadness: “My mother was falling apart. It seemed very important to me that the image I had of her be present, which is why her body appears so often and the images are very raw. I felt I didn't have to sugarcoat the story. That was what I had experienced.” The night she died was the only one she didn't spend in the hospital. In her conversation with EL YONKI, she recalled that the doctor had written her some prescriptions earlier to make her “happier.” “That was his line. I was so tired that I replied, ‘Give me whatever you have.’ And when she died, I needed to disconnect. [The anti-anxiety medication] allowed me to sleep a few hours because at night the anxiety and all this panic were at their peak. During the day too, but the nights were filled with total panic, with terror.” Four years after his death, an unexpected call invited her to become an editor at Erein (which means "to sow" in Basque), one of the most representative publishing houses in the Basque cultural scene. Another of those happy events she couldn't share with him: "What I miss most is the routine, not being able to tell him about the things that mark you, like starting to work on something you love or publishing a book. I deleted his number when I saw on WhatsApp that the icon belonged to someone else. That's when I told myself, 'It's time.'
