Bishop Dominic Kokkat, CST (23 Feb 1932 – 25 Jan 2026) was the First Bishop of the Diocese of Gorakhpur. Ordained a priest on 4 October 1960, he served the Church and the CST Congregation in various capacities in India and abroad. He also served as Assistant Secretary, CBCI, New Delhi, and held a Diploma in Social Work from Canada. Ordained Bishop on 4 October 1984, he shepherded the Diocese of Gorakhpur with deep concern for the poor and marginalized. Inspired by St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, he founded the Congregation of Little Sisters of St. Thérèse (LST) in 1988. After faithfully nurturing the local Church of Gorakhpur, he became Bishop Emeritus in 2006.
