Spetisbury Station
Spetisbury Station was on the Somerset & Dorset railway between Poole and Blandford. It was opened in 1890. The station was turned into an unmanned halt in 1934, and closed completely in 1956. The line remained open, but passenger trains stopped running in 1966, and a year later the goods trains also stopped running and the track was lifted. Today, the Spetisbury Station Project are trying to restore the station buildings, and it's a lovely place to walk!
