Throughout February, EQD's "Show Us Your Junk" video series is showcasing the "Rock Block," an actual city block in Los Angeles' Silver Lake neighborhood that houses the studios of veteran producers, mixers, and musicians Aaron Espinoza (The Ship), Rob Schnapf (Mant Sound Studios) and Dave Trumfio (King Size Sound Labs). We’re starting with Manny Nieto, a.k.a the Rock Block “OG.” Manny was the first of the foursome to find the location and set up his studio in the late 90s. He has since moved his Suplex Audio to a new spot, but respect must be paid. Manny’s resume includes his own bands Distortion Felix and The Chavez Ravine as well as The Breeders, Los Lobos, Chokebore and scores of underground Los Angeles bands.
