Macallan 12 Sherry Oak 110 Proof vs Classic Cut 2025 vs Classic Cut 2017 #whiskyinsv 148
In Episode 148 of Whisky in SV, I did a blind tasting featuring two of Macallan’s newest releases, the 12 Year Sherry Oak 110 Proof and the Classic Cut 2025, alongside the legendary Classic Cut 2017 for comparison. The new 12-year release is a rich, full-bodied sherry bomb and, in my opinion, finally worth its asking price. The 2025 Classic Cut, however, is a bit of a letdown; it’s the lightest and least “proofy” release in the lineup so far. To be fair, including the iconic 2017 Classic Cut might have been a bit cruel, since it still blows the others away with its depth and complexity. Overall, I’d highly recommend the new higher-proof 12-year if you can find it at SRP. #whiskyinsv • Macallan 12 Sherry Oak 110 Proof vs Classi...
