It was first released for the Arcades by SEGA in 1988 being one of the most successful coin-op games of the year. The game balances concepts from platformers and shoot'em ups. At the second half of each level, the player rides a flying dragon and fights a large boss. He is able to fire projectiles from his sword and, like the first Wonder Boy, his life bar decreases as time progresses. To fill it, he must collect the food that he finds along the way.
