EPIC Barra trip at Lake Monduran

Two absolutely unreal sessions at Lake Monduran with Sam @themondyman in August 2025, for our first ever crack at a Barra. Kaleb and I had hoped for 1 fish each, especially after all the “Lake Misery” talk 😏… … 😱 We boated 12 Mondy Meteries (6 each) on soft plastics in the day and Sam’s handmade hardbody divers at night. Our fish ranged from 103cm - 107cm, including a much heavier fish with a deformed tail, that should’ve gone 110+ if he was normal 😂 This trip is something I really feel that every keen fisho should experience, and if you want a guide who will put every ounce of his focus into getting you onto fish, Sam is the man! It’s bloody mind bending watching the fish on the scope and acting on Sam’s directions, feeling more like you’re part of the matrix or playing a video game than fishing, then all of a sudden the VR becomes reality with the explosion of a big Baz on your hooks, and then in the air, and sometimes nearly landing in my lap 🤣 Cheers guys!
