FREEDOM. SPEECH AND CONCERT Her Excellency Ms. Ambassador Zindzi Mandela There are people. There are people who have helped change the world. There are words. There are talks that have helped to change our reality to something better. Her Excellency Ms. Ambassador Zindzi Mandela, the youngest daughter of Winnie and Nelson Mandela, and South Africa’s Ambassador to Denmark, is one of the world's greatest advocates of freedom. On Saturday, November 25th 2017, she was the main speaker of a major event at the National Museum of Denmark, which aims to create a platform for debate on how to create a globally sustainable society with space for all of us in a peaceful and fruitful coexistence. As her father and South Africa's Freedom fighter in the struggle against Apartheid, she shared her thoughts and anecdotes from a life, where art as expressions was considered a threat to the existing regime, and the right to express oneself was suppressed. With grate gratitude and warmth the Ambassador point to her late mother Winnie Mandela, as a true warrior for freedom. “ When you strike a woman, you strike a rock” The Ambassador stated. This event, based on the UNESCO Convention's objective of protecting cultural diversity, an exclusive range of speakers made contributes and held subsequent debate. with a focus on intercultural dialogue and participation. The event sponsored by Metta and Noah Carter, Carter Studio alongside Institute for the Inclusive Museums. Various musicians gave their tribute to support this event at the beautiful and Egmonthallen. From the Rap star Noah Carter, who just recently won Danish Music Awards “Artist of the year” to world-class jazz tributes with Søren Lee Trio and Metta Carter -Jazzmosphere with her band “The Jazz Soul & Concertband” to The human beatbox Crobbs among others -created an International feeling. Several exciting DJs threw delicious rhythms in addition to the colorful festivities accompanied by impressive visuals by the video artist INNIN. A colorful party and tribute to diversity in cultural expressions. The festival event was the first of it’s kind and funded by event coordinator Metta Carter and several volunteers as a gift of gratitude to Her Excellency Ms. Ambassador Zindzi Mandela and her world tribute for freedom and women empowerment.
