Noriko notices that Misato is worried about Shinji, Rei and Asuka and assumes that she is worried about their fighting ability and teamwork. Noriko then takes it upon herself to train the EVA pilots. Simon and Viral are also keen in helping the EVA pilots in their training. Noriko get really fired up when Shinji calls her "coach" while Simon also gets fired up when Shinji calls him "big brother/aniki". Some of the pre-battle dialogues are hilarious and one of the funniest is Noriko getting Rei to do a battle-cry. After their warm up round is over, the gang is about to move on to the next round but their training is interrupted when the STMC show up. After the battle, it seems that Misato was actually worried about the school grades of the EVA pilots and that Noriko had jumped to conclusions. However. the training seems to have been effective since the EVA pilots are a little closer now.
