I finally did it. After years of thinking about it, researching it, and talking myself out of it, I ordered a Wideluxx panoramic film camera. But this video isn't really about buying a camera. It's about why I sold my Hasselblad 501CM to make room for something new. As photographers, it's easy to become collectors. We fall in love with Leica cameras, Hasselblad cameras, film cameras, lenses, and beautiful gear. I certainly do. But I made a decision years ago: I don't want to collect cameras. I want to use them. My Hasselblad 501CM is one of the most satisfying cameras I've ever owned. Yet over the last year it slowly became something I admired more than something I actually used. That realization led me to sell it and invest in a camera that has inspired me for years: the legendary Widelux.
