Music by Arkady Mandzhiev The program of the Forum of National Ensembles of Russia "Towards the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War" at the Moscow Philharmonic continued with performances by the State Dance Theater of Kalmykia "Oirats" and the State Academic Dance Ensemble "Ural." The State Dance Theater of Kalmykia "Oirats" was founded in January 1990. "Oirats" (stress on the second syllable) were the name given to Kalmyks until the early 17th century. The company's repertoire includes the entire golden age of Kalmyk dance, including "Ishkimdyk," "Derbetovsky Tavshur," "Chichirdyk," "Damzhg," and others. The ensemble also performs dances from other nations and original compositions, which are incorporated not only into concert programs but also into full-length musical and choreographic performances. The Oirats ensemble presented one of its most striking programs in Moscow on June 3, 2025.
