In 1936 he entered the monastic life at the Durau Monastery and later on he was ordained into the holy priesthood. Elder Justin Parvu served 16 years in prison for his faith, due to communist persecution. He later founded the Monastery of Petru Voda, where he lived the rest of his life; serving as a spiritual father to thousands of people.
