A Perfect Summer Day in Leiden, The Netherlands

Leiden is easily one of the best day trips you can take from Amsterdam in The Netherlands! Just a 30 minute drive away, you can visit this amazing city filled with history, museums, gorgeous canals and of course great food. If you plan to visit on a Saturday, as we did, you can visit their awesome Saturday Market which takes place just on Saturdays and Wednesdays, and runs along the canal banks. We spent a warm summer day in Leiden discovering what there was to see. We certainly couldn't do everything in just one day, so a return trip will have to happen. We explored an amazing museum (Rijksmuseum Boerhaave) and had an awesome lunch at the oldest Pancake House in the city ('t Pannenkoekenhuysje Oudt Leyden).
