BPD doubles down on dirt bike enforcement using drones
Baltimore police have seized 27 dirt bikes and 14 ATVs so far this year as officials intensify efforts to address riders on city streets. Illegal dirt bikes and ATVs speeding through Baltimore streets — sometimes in large groups — are a familiar sight. Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley admitted the department had not prioritized the problem in recent years. City police have confiscated 27 dirt bikes and 14 ATVs so far this year. By comparison, in all of 2025, police seized 74 dirt bikes and only seven ATVs. The Traffic Investigation Unit is now tasked with handling this enforcement.
