Chuck E. Cheese's - September 1990 Show
Showtape Title: CEC September 1990 Show Release Date: September 1990 September 1990 feels like a transitional show. While it still has some aspects of the Pizza Time Theatre (Chuck and Jasper's old designs, the lack of a wink sound, and the fact that at the time of it's release, most stores still had PTT stages), It features Munch's new voice and Helen's new design, as well as a mention of Pasqually's Armature Hour, a feature that was only on MMBB stages. Plus, by this time the Road Stage had been introduced, and most PTT stores were getting ready to convert their Balcony/Rocker/C-Stage shows into a show resembling the MMBB at former ShowBiz stores. In addition, this was also the first show to play on all stages, as it played on the 3-Stage, making it the second showtape to ever play on it (although it was very limited, as only a few ShowBiz stores had been converted at the time of it's release). The showtape itself features six songs, which are all covers of original artist songs. This is actually the very last show to feature cover songs until January 1992. Apparently, the reason for that is during the production of the shows in 1991, ShowBiz Pizza Time didn't want to pay licensing royalties to the original artists, so they just used original songs that they wrote. Obviously, they're opinion changed, as just about every show released between 1992 and 2014 features at least one cover song. This was also really the first show to have no theme. A variety of different types of songs appear in this show, and they don't have really anything to do with each other. Again, quite odd as every show released at this time had a theme. In fact, it wasn't until about 2001 when CEC stopped dong themed shows aside from the occasional summer or holiday show (though there where some shows released in the 90's had no theme). It should also be noted that this was the very last showtape released on the reel format, as by the end of this shows run, all stores had converted Cyberstar, and were using S-VHS tapes to run their shows.
