Bomberman II (NES) - Area 2, Forest

We escaped the prison and now find ourselves in the middle of a Forest. We have a few familiar enemies here, most notably the spinning coins and what is possibly the earliest they’ve ever appeared in a stage yet (unless you don’t count the times where it’s possible for them to spawn early on if time runs out and that’s not even this game), Not to fear though as the coins have been SEVERELY nerfed since our previous encounters with them, they can’t move through soft blocks anymore, their traction AI is significantly worse, and they are a lot more slower than before too. Returning from TG16 are the three-pointed headed enemy Flapper, they were Barom clones before but in this game they have a unique behavior where they stand away from a bomb blast whenever one is near them. The Safety Vest item makes an appearance in this area though the addition of a recoil effect makes it a little bit of a hindrance to take advantage of, do keep in mind that this is still early Safety Vest so you are only impervious to bomb blasts not enemies. We also get a new music track here which is actually a new rendition of Black Bomber’s Castle theme from TG16.
