How Far Can An Electric Car Drive In -35°C Extreme Winter Conditions? We have all heard this before: an EV can't drive far in extremely cold temperatures...an EV can't charge its battery when it's cold outside...public EV fast chargers don't work during the winter. The idea that electric vehicles in cold climates don't work has been circulating on social media forever. This video will prove that all of the negative information online about EVs in the winter is simply not true (and we will do the test in a Canadian winter scenario). Today I will take my 2021 Kia Soul EV Limited (with almost 70,000 kilometers on the odometer) on a very extreme winter conditions EV range test. I want to find out how far an electric car can drive when it is -35°C (-31°F) outside. We will take the Kia Soul EV Limited on a loop around the city of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada, one of the coldest cities in the country. At the end of the video, we will also do a DC fast charging test on a Flo 50kW fast charger to see if how fast this car can charge in extreme winter conditions.
