What is the oral question and answer period? The oral question and answer period is a time when Members of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNAs) question the Premier of Quebec and ministers on current issues. It is one of the means of parliamentary oversight of government action. The period lasts a maximum of 45 minutes. Questions are of two types: main questions and supplementary questions. The Speaker of the National Assembly of Quebec, Ms. Nathalie Roy, presides over this period of parliamentary proceedings. She distributes the questions among the parliamentary groups and independent MNAs.
