StreamMagic is Cambridge's name for their playback engine, now in its fourth generation. The playback engine is responsible for sourcing your selected music and serving it to the DAC chip for rendering/conversion. By designing their playback engine in house, Cambridge is able extract the best performance possible from the ESS 9033Q’s. Both pieces offer built-in access to high-res streaming services including Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer and Spotify Connect—all accessed and controlled through the StreamMagic App. Apple Airplay 2 and Chromecast are also built-in so you can access Apple Music.
