Got hit by a truck of conviction this morning. I was thinking about our devotional that we posted on the Mornings with the Masters podcast, and I mentioned in that podcast that “we shouldn’t let the way people treat us, impact the way we treat them.” I love that sentiment and stand by it…but it did trigger another thought… to not let what other people say or think about you change what God says and you think about yourself. I caught myself doing that this morning and I’m glad I stopped. You see we will be hated because Jesus was first hated. And that may reveal itself in different wants on different levels but am I living my life to make sure others don’t hate me? Or am I living my life in the free love of Christ? I hope it’s the latter for me and I pray the same for you. You’re so much more than what someone thinks about you. For as high the heavens are above the earth, so God’s thoughts are above our thoughts and God thinks wonderful things about His children.
