One Life to Live 9/11/1989

Megan tends to the giant bleeding scratch on Orson’s face. Orson claims a ghostly, disembodied hand attacked him. Spring and Orson leave before they have to face more ghosts. Marco and Megan discuss whether there really could be a ghost. Michael is in disbelieving shock as Gabrielle leaves him at the altar. Gabrielle runs off after apologizing to Brenda, and Brenda, Dan, and Max are hopeful she’s going to return with Garrick. Cord makes Tina tell Brenda everything she knows. Debra defends her sister, saying there is no way she would have stolen a baby; she asks Blade to take her away from the chapel. Brenda and Tina try to tell Michael the truth, but he doesn’t believe any of it; he heads home to catch Gabrielle. Tina faints from all the stress, but Dan says she will be alright. Gabrielle gets to Grandeview and starts frantically packing Garrick’s things. Blade and Debra find a quiet spot in the woods to get away from all the craziness. Blade admits he’s been staying up late and watching ballet on public television and imagining Debra is the ballerina. They argue because Blade believes the allegations against Gabrielle while Debra defends her sister. Debra storms off and Blade is about to follow but his leg gets caught in a bear trap. Max has a bad feeling about things and decides to go to Grandeview to keep the pressure on Gabrielle, but Julia prevents him from leaving, telling Rafe he tried to rape her daughter. Rafe takes down Tina’s statement and heads over to Grandeview. Tina and Cord fight and Cord calls her greedy and selfish. Megan takes Marco to Llanfair to show her a photo album from when her great-great grandfather Randolph Lord first came to Llanview. She points out that the love letters they found to Llana Flagg matched the handwriting on his will, suggesting they were lovers. Gabrielle tells baby Garrick that his real mother is Brenda and that his real name is Steven Holden McGillis. Michael returns home, and Gabrielle tells him the full truth: that she switched the babies, just like they are doing on Fraternity Row, and that his son died in the hospital that night. Michael refuses to believe her story and suspects she is plotting with Max and Brenda to hurt him. When she tries to retrieve Garrick to bring to the police station and then give to Brenda, Michael slaps her. Gabrielle tries to run upstairs but he grabs her dress and drags her back down the stairs then chokes her until she passes out, yelling that no one will take his son from him.
