I finally successfully completed the full journey from Jakarta to Malang on the Matarmaja Train's modified New Generation Economy Class. The Matarmaja journey from Jakarta to Malang took 15 hours. This seems quite long considering the train's speed limit and the numerous stopover stations it must serve. Nevertheless, the Matarmaja could be an option for those who desire a sunny day, although in my opinion, it would be more appealing if the train could depart earlier (from Jakarta) than the current schedule, as it does for the Matarmaja from Malang. This also includes the Matarmaja's current fleet, which is certainly much better than before. The seats are more ergonomic, no longer sitting upright and reclining. I even found the train to be very cool on this trip, so say no to the stifling heat. Furthermore, on this trip, I had many unusual moments overtaking each other, including overtaking the Gaya Baru Malam Selatan train and crossing paths with Majapahit, which wasn't on the GAPEKA.
