Here is a second selection by Richard Strauss that features a soaring soprano melody. This time it’s not from one of his operas but rather it is an orchestral song. The American mezzo-soprano, Renee Fleming, has an incredible range and sings this song about seduction beautifully. There is a very brief interview at the beginning that highlights how different her speaking voice with her thick New York accent is from her singing voice.
