Retro Rack Episode 7 : Korg SDD-2000 and Korg DRV-2000
two thousand zero zero party over, oops, out of time... Today we check out a really cool retro rack pairing. The Korg DRV 2000 was an 80's multi-effect unit meant to compete with the likes of the Yamaha SPX-90/900 and was, ironically, designed by the same guy. It actually far exceeds the SPX-90 in terms of capability, with far more comprehensive presets and the ability to stereo split combined effects where you might hear delay panned left and reverb panned right etc. The SDD-2000 is a glorious sounding professional grade studio delay with a really cool + and - dual output feature to create a lush stereo sound, despite technically being a mono effect. Adding a single click of modulation really enhances this feature and is how I used the unit in this video.
