I Flew On The Inaugural Luxair Flight From Edinburgh!

In this trip report I would be flying onboard an inaugural flight for the first time in my life. This was Luxairs inaugural flight from Edinburgh Airport (EDI) in Scotland to Luxembourg Findel Airport (LUX) in Luxembourg. As it was the inaugural flight there was a ceremony at the gate which included speeches from Edinburgh Airport staff, the ambassador of Luxembourg Georges Friden, & Lord Provost of Edinburgh Robert Aldridge. There was also free cake & leaflets about things to do in Luxembourg handed out to all passengers. Another gift we were given was a bag tag onboard the flight which were made to celebrate the airlines inaugural flight from Edinburgh. Luxair will be Utilising the newest addition to their fleet, which is the Embraer E195-E2. This was my first time flying with Luxair & also my first time flying onboard any Embraer aircraft. I’ve only ever flown on planes manufactured by Airbus & Boeing so this was a rather exciting experience for me. The sound of the E2 planes at takeoff power is amazing for my AvGeek ears. As for Luxair, I think they are a very good airline! The seats on their E2 planes are comfortable, they have USBC charging ports which is very handy, & they even provide complimentary drinks & sandwiches which is something that most European national carriers have done away with, so to see Luxair providing free drinks & a sandwich is a sign of how good they are. As for the crew, they are phenomenal! They definitely had a very upbeat celebratory attitude & I have even managed to stay in touch with one of them who was also on the airlines second flight out to Edinburgh. I would also like to thank the crew for allowing me to visit the flight deck after we arrived in stand in Luxembourg!
