Sears Craftsman Belt/Disc Sander Motor Will Not Start Diagnosis & Repair (Capacitor Replacement)
In this video we go over how to disassemble a late 1990s era Sears Craftsman belt/disc sander model 137.215360 in order to diagnose a will not start problem with the electric motor. This particular sander model uses a 6 inch self adhesive sanding disc, and a 4 inch by 36 inch sanding belt. We perform the repair by replacing a defective electrolytic capacitor on the electric motor. This video covers at least two models that use the same exact motor and chassis assembly. Craftsman model 137.215360 and 137.283290. There may be others that use this same part number 8343725904 electric motor (long since discontinued).
