Elinor Ostrom's Design Principles Explained: Bottom-Up Strategies for Environmental Governance
How have some communities been able to successfully govern their environmental resources for centuries? This question was first examined by the political economist, Elinor Ostrom. This video describes the eight Design Principles that she found were common practices among communities that had been successful in governing their commons. This is the second video in the series 'Why Are Environmental Problems Complex?' where I explain the complexities and difficulties that arise in addressing global environmental issues.
