Lionel Navy Yard Switcher 51 - Train of The Week
Since the Lionel #51 Navy Yard Switcher was sold separately, I used the Navy sets from 1960 and 1994 for inspiration to build this week’s train. The underpowered 51 is struggling with a blue 6112 gondola filled with canisters of rocket fuel, a 3419 flat car carrying a missile as I shop for a helicopter, a 6520 searchlight car, and custom painted blue caboose to imitate the 6017-200 that I’ll probably never be able to afford!
