The Narcissist Has No True Self(?)

The narcissist is a human being whose defenses took over his/her personality. The child's psyche erected defensive structures, in an attempt to avoid the pain of reality, until the defenses became so strong that the child became lost in them. This is the birth of narcissism. A child armors itself against reality until the armor has to become so strong that it requires the life force of the child.
