Fixing the Solid Regeneration Error that will DESTROY your file! - No Hammer Needed!!
Some Solids are in need of regeneration. You may not be able to retrieve this file again. Continue anyways? A very ominous error. What do you do? Click Yes and run the risk of not being able to retrieve the file again? Or click No and then not save your hours of work? Neither of these are a good option so the only solution is to fix the problem. First, what is the problem? Most likely what has happened is you have altered geometry that was used to create a solid feature and Mastercam no longer has the information it needs to recreate a feature...even though the solid looks fine on your screen right now. Second, how do you fix it? Well, basically just give Mastercam the information it needs. If you explore your Solids Manager, you should see a solid that has gone dirty. Expanding the Solid Tree for that solid should shed some light. One of the operations will most likely be dirty (marked with a red X). If you then open this solid function you can rechain the geometry for the feature. This should solve the problem...just don't forget to regenerate the solid after editing the feature. Alternatively, you can remove the solids history using the funciton on the Model Prep page. Just keep in mind this will create a dumb solid. Once you fix the dirty solid you should then be able to save your file normally. You should try to avoid this error in the future through preplanning of you solid functions needed to create all features before you go and break geometry that was used in a previous solid function.
