Bonnie & Clyde (song video)
Take a seven minute journey with Bonnie and Clyde, America's ride or die outlaw couple. May 23rd, 1934 marked the end of the line for two of America’s most wanted and notorious criminals, Bonnie Parker & Clyde Barrow. The two met their maker along a roadside in Bienville Parish, Louisiana when a posse of lawmen relentlessly unloaded a hail of gunfire into the duo’s stolen Ford V8. While no one knows the exact whereabouts the night before their deaths, what has been said is, prior to that day, the pair were with an accomplice (Henry Methvin) and had their sights on making it to his home to find some respite. As fate would have it, Bonnie and Clyde were separated from Henry and kept to the original plan. History has since provided accounts of how the ambush was carried out and who the participants were and the depths of their roles. What's indisputable is that since that fateful day, the legend of Bonnie & Clyde has continued to captivate the world. Theirs is a story that has bled into legend and the two have become synonymous with the term “Ride or Die.” “When The Lights Go Down," by Two From Five, explores the lives of Bonnie and Clyde in a way that perhaps no other song prior has done. For one, there is no mention of the infamous duo by their names. Further, the song taps into an air of vulnerability that the pair may very well have contended with as they lived a nomadic and non-glamorous life on the run from the law. The official music video portrays a day in the life of Bonnie & Clyde while simultaneously weaving in a story of two drifters following their musical passion.
