Immigration Canada announced on March 21, 2024 that they will enforce a cap for arrivals of Temporary Residents . From the current 6.2% population share. they want to reduce it to 5% in the next 3 years. Some of the changes will be : -Jobs will be offered first to locals (Canadians, PR, students with PGWP & asylum seekers before hiring foreign workers. -Allocation for employers to hire foreign workers, 30% of employees will be reduced to 20% -LMIA validity will be reduced to 6 months from the old 12 months. --Ensure that temporary residents can get PR Other inputs can be found in the announcement and news features, I will link below.
