Anthrax – "Madhouse" live, Rock Hard Festival l 2019 | Rockpalast

They are among the greatest metal bands of all time: Anthrax from New York City. Throughout their career, the band has tried pretty much everything a metal band can do and remains highly successful to this day. In 2019, Anthrax performed at the Rock Hard Festival in the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater, where Rockpalast recorded their song "Madhouse." 💡 You can find the entire concert here: https://1.ard.de/Anthrax_2019?YT=Infobox In 1981, guitarist Scott Ian and then-bassist Dan Lilker founded the band in New York. In the following years, Anthrax became one of the "Big Four," the four most important thrash metal bands in the world, alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. Anthrax explored all subgenres of metal (except the extremes) and collaborated with the hip-hop group Public Enemy in 1991. The result: "Bring The Noise," a crossover track that's about as important to metal fans as Run-D.M.C. and Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" is to pop fans. Anthrax also cover punk rock songs and repeatedly prove that they're not just virtuoso musicians, but also have a keen awareness of the world around them. In the nineties and noughties, the New Yorkers faced a tough time due to changes in singers and record labels. Thanks to the return of frontman Joey Belladonna, the thrashers have been able to recapture their classic success since 2010.
