Repairing Sanded Through Veneer
Dan shows how to touch up color and faux in grain on furniture that the veneer has been sanded too much and burnt through to the layer underneath. If you want to donate to support our channel our PayPal is [email protected] Sanding through veneer is a common mistake made when refinishing furniture. With a little color and practice is can be repaired and matched to the rest of the piece. Using Mohawk products the repair took about 15 minutes and the piece was ready for varnish. Dan the Furniture Repair Man Dan’s Story I started my furniture restoration business thinking I would be a small shop and hoped to keep the lights on. We focused on a quality product and accepting the challenges that each piece had. My son Arthur came to help with the work and added skills and talented we needed. “It will never leave my shop until it is good enough to brag about”(and I like to brag). Every time we repair something it keeps it out of the landfill and keeps another tree from being cut down to replace it. The more we share our knowledge the more times this happens. We work on all types of pieces, from brand new pieces damaged in shipping to antiques that are hundreds of years old. We will try and post weekly depending on the work we have. If you can subscribe, like, comment, share(any or all) you will help us with this project. Our website: Danthefurniturerepairman.com Our you tube station / @danthefurniturerepairman9411 I’m going to be honest, I never envisioned my business developing into where we are today. We have 2 shops, we have worked for museums, rock stars, actors, athletes and were asked to consult on the Queen Mary. I have my customers to thank for this success and the way we show our appreciation is by giving you back the best we have in us. I can’t remember my customer’s name or face but when I ask them about the piece I restored for them I can recall every detail about the project. We have sifted though personnel looking for the people that are natural craftsmen, artisans or just to stubborn to give up until they Get it Right! This has created a team and attitude that has tremendous pride in the work they do. Thanks for your time and attention Dan the Furniture Repair Man
