Parizoda Asatilloyeva: Columbia University in the City of New York | Unlock Talks 5 Meet Parizoda, an incoming freshman at Columbia University majoring in Political Science and Government. Born and raised in Samarkand, she is one of a few people coming from Uzbekistan who made it to an Ivy League school, an undeniably fantastic result. Academically, she did well in her exams, scoring 1500 on SAT and band 8 on IELTS. Passionate about understanding the law, Parizoda interned at a private law office in her hometown, analyzing criminal cases, interviewing suspects, and attending court trials. It's also worth noting that her unique acceptance proved that getting into the world's top universities is possible even while studying at a regular public school. Parizoda hopes to practice criminal law after passing the bar, which includes the completion of law school.
