Will The Baby Capybaras Jump to Safety? Donut Macaroni Choco Momiji

The pond is empty for cleaning. Momiji and her babies, Donut, Choco and Macaroni are at the bottom of the empty pond. Momiji decides to jump out. This entails an enormous two and a half foot leap. Macaroni manages this incredible feat, but try as they might Donut and Choco just cannot manage to jump out. I am in tears as Donut and Choco keep falling back to the concrete ground. The legs of baby capybaras break very easily and Donut and Choco could easily have broken their legs. The keepers who are cleaning the floor of the pond completely ignore their danger. When her pups fail to jump out Momiji jumps back into the empty pond followed by Macaroni. Momiji then tries again to jump out hoping this will give Donut and Choco the energy they need to succeed in this massive jump. Once again little Macaroni manages to jump out but Choco and Donut fail. This is especially interesting as Macaroni is the smallest of the 3 and failed to get the necessary colostrum, which all mammals need immediately after they are born to protect them against disease. Macaroni's mother, Ayu, did not produce any milk. A mother's milk is richest in colostrum during the first few hours after giving birth, but the amount of colostrum quickly falls off. Romeo and Tuff'n lived as members of their family, sleeping in the family bed and joining in family activities. If anyone was ill or injured, Romeo would spend the day beside them on the bed being very affectionate and making us feel better. Pet capybaras learn many English words and phrases. I also include the story of two capybaras who were rescued as newborns in South America. One was rescued from her mother's womb after hunters killed her mother. The other, Ramos, was just a few hours old when a friend of mine found him alone, cold and close to death. His mother had been killed by a predator. The lady who rescued Ramos describes her capybara, now 7 years old: "Ramos has had a huge impact on me. I see him as godlike. Capybaras seem to know so much more than we know. Capybaras feel things we are completely unaware of. They sense things before they happen. For me Ramos is a superior being." Ramos lives with dogs, cats and rescued tapirs, peccaries, sheep, pigs and cows.
