Prelude No. 1 (Andante) from 24 Preludes by Vasif Adigezalov
Vasif Adigezalov was an Azerbaijani composer who lived from 1935 to 2006. His 24 Preludes were written in 1995. This dreamy prelude with its luscious harmonies seems reminiscent of Khachaturian's music for Spartacus or Gayaneh. I plan to record a few more of Adigezalov's preludes in the coming weeks.
