This is the little story of my greatest superhero. They say I almost died at birth, but you saved me hours later. I was turned over, and your heart knew something was wrong, that your baby was crying silently, but in your spirit you heard me. I fought from the moment I was a fetus, because you were worth it. You taught me to tie my shoes and wipe my nose. You taught me to kneel and use my knees like grenades. You taught me that a closed fist is for holding strong, not for hitting. You taught me I was a lion, but above all, you told me how to roar. You taught me that sight is useless without vision. You taught me that love is a pact and a decision. You taught me that the recipe for life includes many things, but above all, it includes guts. You taught me to forgive the unimaginable and that forgiveness leads to freedom. You taught me not to sell my peace for a handful of coins. You taught me to turn a house into a home. You taught me to love my enemies.
